Abstract
929,722. Transformers and inductors. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. April 18, 1962, No. 15118/62. Class 38 (2). A high-voltage winding for a transformer or inductor has at least three coils at the highvoltage end spaced apart (at 29) to permit the flow of electrically insulating fluid, the outer turns 19, 20, 21 being connected directly in series with one another and the inner turns 1, 2, 3 being similarly connected to form screens at the inside and outside of the coils, the coils being otherwise wound alternately outwards and inwards. A screening ring 30 may be provided. The coils may be separated from the normally wound coils such as 22-28 by extra insulation 31 which may be wrapped (33) or may be rings of L-shaped cross-section. Extra insulation 32 may be inserted between the outer coil and the screening ring 30 and between the outer turns 1, 2, 3 and 19, 20, 21 and the adjacent turns. At least one of the end coils may have a number of turns and a current density which are different from those of the normally wound coils.
