Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the cooling effect and to reduce the potential difference between coils of a transformer when the primary coil is to be provided at the outside of the secondary coil being wound around the core of a transformer by a method wherein the primary coil is constituted of plural disk coils and are divided in the radial direction and the axial direction putting spacers between them. CONSTITUTION:When the secondary coil 2 is wound around a core 1 of a transformer and the primary coil 32 is to be provided at the outside, the constitution is made to be as follows. The coil 32 is made as the disk type coils altogether and are divided into an inside layer coil A and an outside layer coil B forming cooling ducts 4 in the axial direction with spacers 72, the coil A is divided in the axial direction into coil blocks 32b, 32e and the coil B is also divided similarly into respective blocks 32a, 32c, 32d, 32f. Tap terminals 5 are led out from the blocks 32c, 32d and these blocks are connected in series between line terminals 6 being provided at the blocks 32a, 32f.
