Abstract

794,664. Cramps. DUNCE, J. J. May 10, 1956 [Feb. 11, 1955], No. 4210/55. Class 61. In a pair of devices whereby a C-cramp may be used for cramping two articles 18, 19 together when the surfaces in contact with the jaws are not parallel each device comprises a plate 15 which carries a socket 16 adapted to receive one of the jaws of the cramp 10 and means for attaching the device to one or other of the articles. The plate 15 which lies flush with the surface of the article has a turned back end in which the socket 16 is formed. Two link members 17 are pivoted to the plate 15 and each link 17 is pivoted to one of the jaws 13, 14. A screw 12 passes freely through the jaw 13 and threads into the jaw 14. In a modification the devices are embodied in the C-cramp. The surface of each jaw 13 may comprise a layer of soft metal or rubber and may be ribbed or serrated.
