Abstract
783,786. Magnetrons. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. (International Standard Electric Corporation). Sept. 30, 1954, No. 28173/54. Class 39(1). In a multi-cavity magnetron the multicavity anode 2 can be accurately centred with respect to the cathode 10 by deforming a thin walled tube 3 enclosing the anode. The adjustment is made by means of three screws 9 equally spaced circumferentially. The screws 9 are mounted in struts 8 extending between rings 4 and 5. Rings 4, 5 and rings 6, 7 provide rigid supports for the ends of the tube 3. The cathode assembly is rigidly positioned within the bores of pole pieces 11, 12 by springs 16, 17 forcing it against a shoulder 15 in the upper pole piece. The springs bear against metal members 18, 19 insulated from each other and from the remainder of the envelope to serve as the cathode terminals. The output waveguide assembly 22 is braced by struts 24 secured to the rings 4, 5.
