In a manure or fertilizer distributer comprising a vehicle incorporating a transverse hopper from which manure or fertilizer is fed to rotary pans, gear teeth 6, 7 are provided on the rim of the pans to form a series of inter-meshing pans which are driven by one or two gear wheels 10 co-operating with gear teeth 9 formed on the bottom of one or two of the pans.
