Abstract

617,747. Manure distributers. HOFFSTETTER, G. O. Nov. 1, 1946, No. 32540. Convention date, Aug. 2. [Class 6 (i)] A machine for scattering fertilizers broadcast includes a rotary spreader 11 surrounded by a shield which comprises a plurality of plates 18, 23, 24 arranged in adjacent relationship around the periphery of the spreader each of the plates being individually adjustable about a horizontal axis. In the form shown a vaned disc distributor 11 is rotatably mounted on an axle 12 at the rear of a hopper (not shown). A semihexagonal frame 10 is mounted around the distributor at a level slightly above the disc. The plates 18, 23 and 24 adjustably pivoted to the sides of the frame may be locked by bolts 25 at any inclination to the plane of the disc to limit the area spread by the disc.
