Abstract

908,711. Manure spreaders; seed sowers. NOLLE, J. May 28, 1959 [May 31, 1958; Aug. 28, 1958], No. 18221/59. Class 6(1). A machine which can be used for distributing manure or broadcasting seeds comprises a hopper 1 and an agitator 9 oscillated by means of a rod 14 connected to a crank pin 15 on a wheel 16. Material is fed through a rectangular aperture in the bottom of the hopper, the effective area of the aperture being adjusted by means of an apertured plate 11 mounted below the hopper. The agitator comprises rods mounted on a tube secured to a shaft by means of a removable pin. In a modification a transversely extending hopper is provided with a number of apertures, separate agitator means being provided to operate over each aperture and being mounted in a common shaft. The hopper may be attached to the front of a cart or to a cultivating machine. Specification 880,636 is referred to.
