Abstract
626,584. Fertilizer distributers. MARKHAM TRACTION, Ltd., and DENLOW, P. M. July 15, 1947, No. 18866. [Class 6(i)] In a fertilizer distributer of the type comprising a transverse trough - shaped hopper 4 having spaced delivery orifices and a continuously rotating agitator 10 in the hopper above the delivery orifices and wherein the orifices are formed by an opening in a slidable cut-off plate 7 which co-operates with an opening in the hopper bottom, a plate 1 having an opening 2 is inserted in each of the openings in the hopper bottom, the plate being flush with the inner surface of the hopper bottom and, at least at the edge of the opening 2, sufficiently thin to give a knife-edge effect to avoid clogging when spreading fertilizers such as super-phosphates. The rotary agitator may be of the type shown in Specification 626,583.
