Abstract

Manure and seed distributors.-In a machine for distributing phosphate or like manure simultaneously with seeds and other manure, means are provided for breaking up the phosphate while delivering it from the container and for supplying phosphate from an auxiliary hopper when the supply in the main container is temporarily out of contact with the breaking-pins. The main container consists of a bottomless stationary part 89 and a movable part 91 having a curved bottom 93. In the stationary part is mounted a rotary drum 150 carrying pins 112 which break and throw out the phosphate through a grating 109 into a shoot. The movable part 91 is raised gradually by racks and pinions driven from the wheel axle through a clutch and change and reducing gearing. Below the auxiliary hopper 119 is a spring-controlled sliding frame 121 covered with wire gauze and adjustably reciprocated by levers 125 engaging star-wheels 126. Above the wire gauze is a fixed scraping-blade 128.
