Class 59 The jaws 1, 2 of a jaw crusher are driven near their lower ends by eccentric shafts 3, 4 while near their upper ends they are supported on the crusher casing by means of links 5 against which the jaws are braced by means of spring-loaded draw rods 7. The links 5 bear on the crusher casing through adjustable wedges 6. The pressure surfaces of the links are concave while the associated bearing surfaces on the casing or on the crushing jaws are convex. The shaft 3, which is fixed, is driven and the shaft 4, which is yieldably mounted and adjustable by a screw 8, is driven from the shaft 3 by. means of gear wheels 9, 10, 11, 12, Fig. 2,. the axis of the gear wheel 12 being connected to the axes of the gear wheels 10, 11 by means of rigid links 13.
