Abstract

1,111,395. Rolling mills. WISSENSCHAFTLICH - TECHNISCHES ZENTRUM AUSRUSTUNGEN FUR DIE SCHWERINDUSTRIE UND GETRIEBEBAU VEB. 17 Jan., 1966, No. 2111/66. Heading B3M. A planet type rolling mill comprises work rolls 14, Fig. 1, carried by a cage 16, and supporting rolls 13. Each of the rolls 13 is driven by an electric motor 1 through a clutch 2, gearing 3, a gear wheel 4, a hollow gear shaft 5, a hollow articulated spindle 9, and a hollow drive shaft 11 on which the rolls are mounted. Each of the cages 16 is formed by two side portions connected by tie rods, and is driven by motor 1, through gearing 3, gear wheels 6, 7, a shaft 8, an articulated spindle 10, and a detachable coupling 12. The planet sets are positioned by eccentric bushes 18, in stand 17. In a modification rolls 14, Fig. 3 (not shown) are carried in rotors (23) driven by motor 1.
