Abstract

1,031,036. Rolling. MORGARDSHAMMARS MEK ANISKA VERKSTADS A.B. March 14, 1963 [March 14, 1962], No. 10103/63. Heading B3M. The housing for the edging rolls 1 of a twohigh mill is formed in two parts 5 which are movable towards and away from each other by adjusting screw 6 and 7. The parts 5 are mounted on wheels 14 running on a track 15, the centre of gravity G of each part acting about these wheels to cause prestressing of the screws 6 and 7 in the same sense as that produced during rolling. The screws are driven from a common gear-box 8 which is rigidly attached by girders 9 to a foundation. The drive for each roll is from a motor 13 through gearing 11, 12 and a splined coupling 10.
