Abstract

601,299. Edge-runners. C L A Y T O N GOODFELLOW & CO., Ltd., and HARRISON, J. Nov. 29, 1945, No. 32242. [Class 59] In a grinding mill of the type wherein crushing rollers A work in a rotary pan comprising a central grinding track H encircled by perforated grids K, the rollers are mounted to revolve about the vertical axis of the pan, and in the opposite direction to the pan, the roller assembly and the pan being suitably intergeared. As shown, the rollers A are journalled on pins B projecting from arms C which are free to rock to permit the rollers to rise and fall. The arms C are pivoted to a member E sleeved on the shaft F which is fixed to the pan and is driven by a bevel-wheel N meshed with a pinion S on the driving shaft T. The member E is secured to a bevel-wheel O also meshed with the pinion S. Scrapers revolve with the member E to scrape ground material from the grinding track on to the perforated grids.
