Abstract
502,842. Roller mills. ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTION L. M. S. SOC. ANON., FREROTTE, A., and PERMENTIER, P. R. DE. April 21, 1938, No. 11994. [Class 59] In a roller mill in which the movable roller is carried by pivoted arms, subjected to the action of springs which tend to force the roller into contact with the fixed roller, the movable roller is driven symmetrically or substantially symmetrically with respect to its median plane. As shown a movable roller 3 is carried by pivoted supports 4 and is adjustable rela. tively to a fixed roller 2. Each end of the fixed and movable roller is driven by a belt 7 engaging pulleys 5. The rollers are driven at different speeds and in order to equalize the drive at the end of rollers a differential gear, clutch, &c. may be inserted in the drive shaft 6.
