Abstract

966,954. Jaw crushers. EISENWERK WESERHUTTE A.G. Aug. 7, 1963 [Aug. 11, 1962], No. 31150/63. Heading B2A. In a jaw crusher in which a swinging jaw 3 is caused to reciprocate relative to one or more fixed jaws 6, a spring-influenced pivotallymouhted adjustable counterweight 14 is caused by linkage 13 to effect movements in the opposite direction to those of the jaw 3. Adjustable compensating weights 17, Fig. 2, are connected to drive shaft 16 which has an eccentric portion 11 connected through a bearing 10 to an adjustable member 9 pressing on a toggle link 8 mounted on jaw 3. Shaft 16 is driven from drive pulley 18 through a cone coupling 19 and hub 20. If an uncrushable foreign body should get into the crushing zone 4, a spring 22 is compressed by the toggle link 8 and the coupling 19 responds to cause free rotation of the pulley 18.
