Aug. 27, 1941, Nos. 10944/41 [Convention date, Aug. 28, 1940], and 10945/41 [Convention date, Feb. 14, 1941.] [Class 59] A gyratory crusher comprises a frame having an upstanding, cylindrical member which is surrounded by an eccentrically apertured rotary sleeve, the axes of the inner and outer cylindrical surfaces of which are inclined to each other, and a head which has a downwardly directed convex spherical bearing surface and a sleeve engaging the eccentric. The upstanding cylindrical member 13 is connected to the main frame 3 by members 10 and is surrounded by the eccentric sleeve 31. The head 50 is provided with a spherical bearing surface 51 engaging the concave surface of a plate 41 on top of the central member 13, and with a sleeve 53 engaging the member 31. The eccentric is driven by bevel gearing and carries a sealing ring 55 having an upward conic extension 58 extending beneath a shield 54 formed on the sleeve 53,-and an outer portion 61 lying inside a flange 26 on the frame 11 a conic surface 27 of which is covered by an apron 62. The bowl is adjustable within a ring 80 held by springs 85 on the top of the main frame. In a modification the central cylindrical member is formed as an upward extension of a fixed shaft and the spherical bearing surface encircles the eccentric.' U.S.A.
