Abstract
345,465. Gyratory crushers for coal, chemicals, &c. CHAUFFE ET COMBUSTION, SOC. ANON., 4, Rue de l' Autonomie, Brussels. March 5, 1930, No. 7287. Con. vention date, March 6, 1929. [Class 59.] In a pulverizing apparatus having a gyratory crushing cone pivoting about a spherical apex, the point of oscillation 29 of the axis of the pulverizing cone 10 is located at or in close proximity to the spherical surface 12 of the pulverizing chamber 8, a rotary and conical movement being imparted to the pulverizing body about its axis. The cone 10 is provided with a pinion 15 which gears with a pinion 16 and with a toothed ring 26. The pinion 16 is driven by belt &c. through flywheel 18 and the ring 26 is driven by a pinion 21 engaging a toothed ring 24 on a spider 25. The coal &c. is fed into a hopper 27 and passes through a regulating and dressing apparatus 28 to a bowl-shaped receptacle 19 from which it is swept by a rotating arm 20 into the crusher 9 from which it descends to the chamber 8 where it is finely pulverized by the pestle-and-mortar action of the spherical head of the cone 10 and the casing 12. The pulverized material may be discharged by suction through an orifice 2. The casing may be adapted to revolve with or without the conical portion 10.
