Roller-and-ring mills and apparatus. - A fan separating-device b for withdrawing ground material from the mill at the moment of its inception is formed integral with a rotating grinding track a against which the material is ground by rollers c. These rollers may be loose on their axes or be rotated about a central axis and are pressed against the grinding track by springs d. Material is fed in at a hopper e and is thrown out by centrifugal action between the rollers c and track a. The powdered material is caught by the vanes of the separating device b and is thrown against the sides i of the casing to fall into and be carried away by conveyers f. Air freed from the pow. dered material returns to the grinding zone through slats g and openings h in the hood k of the grinding bowl.
