Abstract

188,281. Pech, G. March 21, 1922. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Disc mills. - In a flour mill with sets of stones or runs arranged one above the other in a casing, the stones are surrounded by a sieve envelope 9 within the casing 8 so that the ground grain from the stones is thrown by centrifugal force against the sieve and only insufficiently-reduced material passes to the run next below. The upper stones 3, 4 of the runs are fixed to a vertical shaft 5 rotated by gearing 7, and a circular hollow body 27 is fixed upon the shaft and located in the central recess 26 of each runner so that the material slides upon it towards the lower stone 1, 2. The body 27 has a circumferential slot 35 through which air sucked up through the central recess 31 in the lower stone passes to cool the material. The envelope 9 is made of wire gauze, muslin &c. and is closed at the bottom by a sieve 22 and provided with an outlet 23. A propeller 20 at the lower end of the shaft 5 throws the material escaping from the funnel 11 beneath the lower run against the sieve 9. The flour passes through the sieves 9, 22 and is delivered through an outlet 17 in the bottom 16 of the casing 8.
