Feeding - devices for granular and like materials; roller mills; mills and apparatus.-Apparatus for breaking and grinding lump and hard flour and feeding it to a centrifugal or other sifter g comprises a. rotary breaker a arranged under a grate b and over cylinders c, d, the breaker having two rows of arms with the arms in one row displaced relatively to the arms in the other row. The lumpy flour is broken into smaller lumps by the breaker and forced through the grate b to the cylinders c, d, which grind the flour and feed it to the sifter g. A hopper f is mounted on the top of the casing e containing the breaker a and cylinders c, d. The cylinder c is driven by belt gearing from the axle of the sifter g, and the breaker a by spur gearing from the cylinder d which is geared to the cylinder c.
