[Class 59] A gyratory crushing head is mounted to gyrate about a spherical bearing 3 on a supporting shaft 4, the lower end of which is mounted on a spherical bearing 7 adjustable in height by a screwed plug 8 operated by a ratchet 11. As shown in Fig. 1, a mantle 12 is secured on the head 1 by a nut 13 and locking-ring 14, the head being shrunk on a hollow shaft 2 carried in an inclined bearing 28a in an eccentric bush 28 driven by bevels 35, 34 and mounted in a bearing 28c in a block 29. The block 29 is secured to the mill frame by a key 31a and has an annular channel carrying springs 46 acting on a sleeve 44 and sealing ring 45, bearing against a curved surface of the head to prevent entry of dust to the bearing. The outside of the sleeve 44 is sealed by split rings carried by a casing 47. The concave is provided with a liner 16 secured by wedge blocks 18 and lugs 16e. The bottom of the hopper 17 is lined with plates 16d and the concave may rise against the pressure of springs 23 when uncrushable material enters the crusher. An oil pump 50 is mounted inside the drive pulley 56 and is driven by gears 55, 54 and discharges oil through pipe 39a to the gyrating bearings and to a branch pipe leading to the bearings of the drive shaft 36, the used oil being returned through pipe 41 to a filter before returning to the pump. In Fig. 6, the concave is supported by a spring 65 from a slidable rod 61 bearing on the ball 3, the casing 62 surrounding the spring forming the lock nut for the mantle 12. The sleeve 2 is integral with the head 1 and the casing of the concave 16 is retained by spring bolts 66.
