623,423. Crushers with gyratory heads. BJARME, J. A. Nov. 20, 1946, No. 34363. Convention date, Nov. 20, 1945. [Class 59] In a gyratory crusher, the upper crushing member 6 is supported by a member 7 secured to pistons 12 in a plurality of circumferentially-disposed cylinders 11, and to pistons 9 in a plurality of similarly-disposed cylinders 10. The member is normally urged downwardly, to an extent limited by adjustment bolts 8, by compressed-air in the cylinders 12, but if a large piece of material becomes jammed between the member 6 and head 5, the cylinders 12 are exhausted and compressed-air admitted to the cylinders 10 to raise the upper crushing member. The head 5 is driven by centrallylocated driving means 4.
