[Also in Division B2] A cone crusher has a hydraulically suspended cone-spindle 5, the socket for the conespindle bearing 4 being formed as a liner 3 axially movable in a bearing box 2 and attached to a piston 12 movable in an hydraulic cylinder 11 surmounting the bearing box and detachably connected thereto. In operation, pressure medium enters the chamber 14 through inlet 17 and urges the piston upwards against the end of the set screw 16. When hard objects enter the crushing cavity the cone, together with the spindle 5, socket 3, cover plate 7, piston rod 9 and the piston, yield downwardly against the pressure of the fluid in the chamber. The piston 12 is then either returned by the pressure to its position in contact with the end of the set screw, or the drive means of the crusher may be automatically stopped.
