Abstract

1,257,300. Gyratory crushers. ALLIS-CHALMERS MFG. CO. 16 Nov., 1970 [19 Nov., 1969], No. 54429/70. Heading B2A. The crushing gap between head 24 and concave 3 of a gyratory crusher is sensed by a cam followed 33 coacting with a part of the movable crusher post assembly 15 which supports the head, is vertically hydraulically adjustable and has a tapered lower end forming the cam surface 30. The cam follower which is arranged in and projects from a lower crusher frame, comprises an extended movable core of a linear variable differential transformer 32 which provides an electrical signal indicative of the core position and thus of the crushing gap. As described, the crusher post assemblyincludes an hydraulic piston-andcylinder 16, 11 arrangement the cam surface being formed by a tapered portion of the piston 16.
