Abstract
1276426 Jaw crushers H KOPPERN and H SCHAFER [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK KOPPERN & CO KG] 9 Oct 1970 [9 Oct 1969] 48055/70 Heading B2A A crusher comprises rotatable disc-like crushing jaws 44, 66 one of which 66 is also axially reciprocable, the axially-fixed jaw 44 having an axial feed aperture 52 through which a feed hopper 48 leads to a crushing chamber between the jaws. The axial reciprocatory drive comprises an hydraulic cylinder 58 with a piston 64 secured to the reciprocable jaw and seated in two axially-spaced hydrostatic bearings 68, 70 so that the piston forms a bearing shaft and the cylinder a bearing brush for the shaft. The crushing gap is adjustable by a thread 30 and bearing carrier 32 which sets the spacing of the jaws. Rotational movement is effected by an hydraulic motor 104 connected to the piston. The speed may be varied by adjustment of a pump 116. The reciprocatory frequency is adjusted by a pump 148. The rotational speed of the jaws is set to effect greater than 1g and preferably greater than 5g acceleration at the periphery. The jaws are coupled either by friction or by a positive mechanical coupling.
