In the joint or terminal for high-tension cables disclosed in the parent Specification the socket, or each portion thereof, is surrounded by a porous insulating structure which is impregnated with, and may also be embedded in, the synthetic resin insulating mass adhering ultimately to the socket. The resin may be of the ethoxylinic type, containing a hardening agent but no inorganic filler, and the porous material may comprise a wrapping of paper or fabric such as glass, silk, cotton or asbestos.
