Abstract

883,885. Cable joints and terminations. PIRELLI S.p.A. March 29, 1960 [June 4, 1959], No. 11042/60. Addition to 752,376 as improved upon by 778,578. Classes 36 and 38 (1). In a stop joint or terminal according to the parent Specification as modified in Specification 778,578, the outer surface of the mass 9 of synthetic resin is formed as a continuous cylinder, i.e. without a flange, and a packing 24 is provided between chamfered surfaces 25 on flanges 22 on the parts of a two-part outer casing 13 which packing bears both on the outer surface of the mass 9 and on the flanges when the latter are clamped together. Shoulders 26 are formed on the casing parts to prevent movement of the mass 9.
