Abstract

883,886. Cable joints and terminations. P I R E L L I S.p.A. March 29, 1960 [June 4, 1959], No. 11043/60. Addition to 752,376 as improved upon by 778,578. Classes 36 and 38(1). In a stop joint or terminal according to the parent Specification as modified in Specification 778,578, the outer surface of the mass 9 of synthetic resin is formed with a flange 17 against which flanges 22 on the parts of a two-part outer casing 13 are clamped with the interposition of gaskets 18. Clamping is effected by nuts 24 engaging studs 23 passing through flanges 22 and embedded in the flange 17 which therefore serves to sectionalize the joint. A screen 20 is embedded in the mass 9 in the region of flange 17 and is earthed to one of the flanges 22.
