[Also in Group XXXVI] A gland for sealing and electrically bonding a sheathed electric cable comprises a sleeve 10 of soft metal, such as lead, externally coned at both ends and compressed on to the cable sheath 3 between co-operating internally coned surfaces respectively of a first gland element 1 and a washer 11 axially movable relative to the sleeve 10 by a second gland element 2 that abuts the washer 11, is in threaded engagement with the first element 1, and is recessed to form around the cable sheath a clearance 12 that may be sealed with a water-proof compound.
