[Class 122 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A gasket, consisting of a yieldable material 6, which may contain a metallic core 5, has electrically conducting and non-conducting strands 7 and 8 helically wound side by side around it. The gasket may be cemented into a groove 12 in one of two joined metallic parts 9 and 10 such that the material projects slightly from the groove. The strands 7 and 8 are deformed when pressure is applied through the medium of bolts 11 to give a satisfactory seal against moisture as well as a satisfactory electrical connection.
