768,152. Distribution boxes; two-part couplings. OTTERMILL SWITCHGEAR, Ltd. July 4, 1955 [July 14, 1954], No. 20579/54. Class 38 (1). An insulating distribution box 3 supports bus-bars 1a ... 1d in a metal duct and comprises recesses 5a, 5b, 5c housing bus-bar terminals 7a, 7b, 7c and recesses 5e, 5f, 5g housing terminals 12e, 12f, 12g for branch conductors 18, sockets 11, 15 for fuse carrier contacts being formed between the terminals and springs 9, 14 respectively, so that fuse carrier contacts may bridge corresponding pairs of terminals 7, 12 through an apertured cover 30. Cover 30 is slidable with respect to the box to an extent limited by a spring plunger 41 which engages the end 43 of a groove 40, leaving the bus-bar terminals still covered. The cover may be entirely removed by inserting a tool in a notch 44 in the groove and depressing plunger 41. The bus-bar block and terminal block for the neutral bus-bar 1d are integral, as shown at 25. Specification 595,819 is referred to.
