Abstract

833,225. Two-part couplings. VOLEX ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS Ltd., and HUGHES, J. G. K. Feb. 18, 1957 [Feb. 17, 1956], No. 4951/56. Class 38 (1). A twin-outlet fitting comprises an insulating base 5 and cover 6, the pairs of " live " and " neutral " sockets 8 being housed in recesses 7 in the base, and bus-bars 10 lying in grooves 9 in the base connecting the " live " and " neutral " sockets respectively, a third busbar 25 screwed to the cover 6 connecting earthing sockets 29. Terminals 17 are housed in recesses 19 in base 5 and links 20 connect the terminals to lugs on the appropriate bus-bars 10, bus-bar 25 carrying the earthing terminal. Each earthing socket 29 (Fig. 6), has a pair of doubled-over limbs 32, the socket contacts 8 being of the kind described in Specification 833,224. A pair of spring-loaded shutters 35 are held in recesses 34 in the cover 6. Specification 812,890 also is referred to.
