Abstract

800,573. Conduits; two-part couplings. MARRYAT & PLACE, Ltd. Feb. 17, 1956 [Nov. 19, 1954], No. 33620/54. Classes 36 and 38 (1). A bus-bar assembly comprises trunking 1 formed in one piece from a non-conducting resilient material and having a series of parallel channels 4 enclosing conductors 8, access to each channel being by a self-closing slit provided by flanges 5, 6 integral with the side walls 2 or dividing walls 3 of the channels, each conductor 8 having contact blades 9 with their open ends opposite the slit. Each slit is preferably arranged so that the entrance to each channel is to one side. The trunking may be supported in a metal casing 7 to restrict outward movement of the side walls 2. A tapping- box comprises an insulating moulding 10 forming channels 14 for contact blades. One channel encloses a terminal strip 15 to which contact blade 16 is connected. Each of the other channels carries a fuse 19 connected at one end to a contact blade 21 as at the other end to a terminal strip. The box may be enclosed in a metal support 22. The contact blades are so positioned that the polarity of the box cannot be reversed by wrong application to the trunking 1.
