[Also in Group XXXVII] A bus-bar junction chamber comprises a moulded box 10 of synthetic resin on which is mounted a tee-off terminal 19, accessible from outside the box and provided with insulation 17 moulded integrally with the box, and a metal connector 14 mounted within the box to interconnect adjacent ends of a pair of aligned bus-bars 12 and connected to terminal 19 by a conductor 21 embedded in the box. Each terminal 19 may be mounted in an orifice 11 formed in the insulation 17. Apertures 13 are provided in the sides of the box for the passage of busbars 12 and each aperture may be formed half in a side wall of the box and half in the wall of an insulating dished lid. Insulating partitions separate the connectors 14 for the different phases and the box may be filled with oil. The exterior of the box may have an earthed metal coating and the bus-bars 12 may be encased in a single block of moulded synthetic resin. In an alternative arrangement the box may be deeper and may be provided with a flat metal lid. In a modified form (Fig. 7, not shown), two bus-bar connectors may be provided for each phase, the connectors being mounted close to the opposite side walls and interconnected by conductors in the base of the box, each connector being arranged to receive the end of only one bus-bar.
