Abstract

756,013. Winding yarn. AKT.-GES. J. J. RIETER & CIE. Aug. 6, 1954 [Aug. 10, 1953], No. 22996/54. Class 120 (2). Filaments 1 from a spinneret are traversed by a split drum 2 on to a package sleeve 3 rotated by contact with a driven drum 5. Pressure is maintained by a pair of adjustable levers 4, 7 weighted at 6. An armature 16 carried by the lever 4 is acted upon by an electromagnet 15 so that, at the early stages of the winding operation, the pressure exerted by the weighing system is considerably increased by the electromagnetic attraction. In a modification, Fig. 2, a permanent magnet 17 on the lever 4 and an armature 18 replace the elements 15, 16 of the first modification. In this latter construction the normal weighting comprises a spring 11, the pressure of which is adjustable at 12.
