Abstract
899,634. Magnets. BROOKE, W. M. July 15, 1958 [April 15, 1957], No. 12251/57. Class 35. A series of magnets 6 are rotated about an axis 1 on a carrier (not shown) which permits some radial movement. The centrifugal force acting on the rotating magnets is opposed by stationary arcuate magnets 2, 3 and 4, 5, the latter pair being weaker than the former and insufficient to nullify the centrifugal force. As a result the rotating magnets move on a small radius between poles 2 and 3 and a wide radius between magnets 4 and 5 producing inertia effects. Electromagnets may be used.
