Abstract

756,173. Winding yarn. FRASER & SONS, Ltd., D. Nov. 15, 1954 [Nov. 21, 1953], No. 32358/53. Class 120 (2). A machine of the kind in which the yarn package 1 is driven by frictional contact with a horizontal driving roller 2, is furnished with a pedal 11 connected by a lever 10 and link 9, the latter carrying a pawl 8, to a lever 3 connected to the yoke 5 carrying the yarn package 1. The lever 3 carries a ratchet 7 and the levers and links are biased by a spring 12 connected to an arm 13 carrying a mask 14 for the ratchet 7. Depression of the pedal 11 raises the package 1 clear of its driving roller 2 irrespective of package diameter.
