Class 120(3) When the winding of slubbings 6 into a multiple bobbin reaches a stage beyond which there is risk of disturbance of unsupported side convolutions, at each end of the bobbin an annular plate or flange 7 is passed by means of a radial aperture 8 over the shaft 4 between supporting guide 3 and the end of the bobbin until it is coaxial with the core 5 and is then positioned so that adjustably anchored resilient elements, e.g. springs 10, flat springs or resilient cords, embrace the core (occupying recesses 9 if necessary) and detachably secure the flange thereon. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, disproportion between flange 7 and core 5<SP>1</SP> is overcome by addition of spring 10<SP>1</SP> and adjusted anchorage of springs 10.
