Abstract

742,638. Cores for dynamo-electric machines. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Dec. 16, 1953 [Dec. 17, 1952], No. 35067/53. Class 35. A stator comprises an outer yoke member the inner periphery of which has at least one spiral surface thereon for engagement by the spiralled outer end of one or more pole-pieces. As shown, inner and outer core members are stamped from the same metal sheet as shown in Fig. 2. The two sets of laminµ are then assembled in packs and the inner pack is introduced with the field coils in position into the outer with the four shaded poles facing the parts 12-15 of the outer core which are the greatest distance from the centre thereof. The inner member is then turned clockwise, e.g. by a wrench until the spiralled ends of the poles fit tightly to the spiralled portions 4-7 of the outer member as shown in Fig. 1. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 703,529.
