Abstract
148,748. Siemens - Schuckertwerke. July 25, 1919, [Convention date]. Pole-pieces and cores.-The salient poles of a high-speed rotor each consist of a core proper k and a removable part r, the part r having legs which straddle the core so that the contacting surfaces are in the axial direction only. Cooling channels may be formed at the corners or sides between the winding and the iron of the poles by making the part r shorter or longer than the part k. The legs of the part r are secured by screws s and may be sunk into grooves in the hub n, as shown. The parts r may be subdivided in the axial direction as shown on the lower pole in Fig. 2.
