Homopolar machines; supports.-In a dynamoelectric generator, stated to produce continuous current, a rotary magnet r has all its projecting poles of the same sign, and opposite poles are adjacent the shaft d; the fixed annular armature j is magnetically connected at its ends by bolts k to end plates c, and the magnetic circuit is completed through discs g on the rotating shaft. The laminated armature has a ring winding h wound in longitudinal slots p and connected to the external circuit by leads q. To prevent passage of the flux through the bed-plate, non-magnetic sections t may be inserted in the bearing pedestals f.
