Abstract
868,795. Cores for dynamo-electric machines. HOOVER Ltd. Oct. 16, 1957 [Oct. 19, 1956], No. 31948/56. Class 35. An annular stator comprises separate circumferential portions not extending around the whole circumference but have two or more gaps of considerable circumferential extent in their planes. Sets of laminµ each with two large salient poles as shown in Fig. 3 can be disposed on similar laminµ disposed as shown in Fig. 4, so that the large pole portions overlap and have a full cross-section whereas the yoke and small pole sections have air spaces between the laminµ. The inter-polar gaps may be bridged by magnetic wedges. Specification 796,099 is referred to.
