Abstract
742,330. Photographic developing compositions. KODAK, Ltd. June 26, 1953 [June 26, 1952], No. 17748/53. Addition to 729,694. Class 98 (2). A single-powder photographic developing composition contains an organic silver halide developing agent, a stabilizing agent which is boric anhydride, tetraboric acid, metaboric acid, a partially hydrated form of boric anhydride intermediate between boric anhydride and metaboric acid, an alkali metal bisulphite, or an alkali metal metabisulphite, a preservative which is an alkali metal sulphite or bisulphite, a buffer compound which is an alkali metal salt of boric, carbonic, or phosphoric acid, and an alkaline ingredient which is sodium or potassium hydroxide coated with 2 to 20 per cent by weight of phthalic anhydride. The composition may also contain potassium bromide. Examples of developing compositions are specified. Specifications 585,366, 698,311, 725,892, 729,388 and 729,694 are referred to.
