Abstract

698,311. Dry photographic developer composition. KODAK, Ltd. Feb. 11, 1952 [Feb. 9, 1951], No. 3521/52. Class 98 (ii). A single powder photographic developer composition comprises one or more organic photographic developing agents (e.g. monomethyl-paminophenol sulphate, hydroquinone, p-aminophenol hydrochloride or sulphate, pyrogallol, p-hydroxyphenylglycine, catechol, or amidol), a photographically compatible basic ingredient such as an alkali borate, sulphite, or carbonate, and as a stabilizing agent, boric anhydride containing not more than 15 per cent by weight of moisture. Examples are given of developer powders containing monomethyl-p-aminophenol sulphate, hydroquinone, sodium sulphite (anhydrous or not), sodium carbonate monohydrate or desiccated or sodium metaborate, potassium bromide ; and boric anhydride; sodium sulphite, sodium carbonate monohydrate, potassium bromide, boric anhydride, and either pyrogallol, catechol, p-hydroxyphenylglycine, or p-aminophenol sulphate or hydrochloride; sodium sulphite, sodium carbonate monohydrate, potassium iodide, boric anhydride, hydroquinone, and monomethyl-p-aminophenol sulphate; monomethyl - p - aminophenol sulphate, anhydrous sodium sulphite, and boric anhydride, with or without sodium metaborate ; diaminophenol hydrochloride, sodium sulphite, potassium bromide and boric anhydride; and hydroquinone, sodium sulphite, sodium carbonate monohydrate, potassium bromide and boric anhydride.
