898,984. Photographic developers. ILFORD Ltd. Feb. 27, 1961 [March 7, 1960], No. 8030/60. Class 98(2). A single powder developer comprises a photographic organic developing agent, an alkaline salt and a minor proportion (eg from 1 to 10%) of alginic acid based on the weight of the dry composition. The powder may be in tablet form. In the examples, the developing agent is p-methylamino phenol sulphate with or without hydroquinone, or 1-phenyl- 3-pyrazolidone and hydroquinone, and the alkali is sodium carbonate.
