729,862. Photographic developing compositions. KODAK, Ltd. June 26, 1953 [June 26, 1952], No. 17751/53. Addition to 698,311. Class 98 (2). A single-powder photographic developing composition comprises one or more organic developing agents, a photographically compatible basic ingredient such as an alkali metal borate, sulphite or carbonate, and, as a stabilizing agent, boric anhydride containing not more than approximately 35 per cent by weight of moisture together with a relatively small amount of phthalic anhydride. The powder may contain 0.5 to 3 per cent. by weight of boric anhydride and 0.05 to 0.3 per cent by weight of phthalic anhydride. Examples are given of suitable developing compositions, the boric anhydride used therein containing not more than 2 per cent by weight of moisture. Specification 585,366 is referred to.
