Abstract

An alkali metal ferricyanide is stabilized by the addition of boric anhydride, which is preferably anhydrous. A composition for the preparation of a photographic bleaching solution includes, inter alia, 30 to 120 parts by weight of alkali metal ferricyanide and 4 to 25 parts of boric anhydride. In specific examples, the compositions include 50 grams of potassium ferricyanide and 10 grams of boric anhydride, or 100 grams and 15 grams, 30 grams and 5 grams, or 75 grams and 12.0 grams of the two ingredients. Various other ingredients are specified.
