695,689. Dry photographic fixing compositions. KODAK, Ltd. Feb. 11, 1952 [Feb. 9, 1951], No. 3522/52. Class 98 (ii). A single powder photographic fixing composition comprises sodium thiosulphate, an alkali sulphite, a hardening agent, boric anhydride, and a salt of acetic, citric, or tartaric acid. The boric anhydride may contain up to 15 per cent by weight of moisture. Examples are given of fixing powders containing (1) anhydrous sodium thiosulphate, sodium sulphite, sodium bisulphite, boric anhydride, sodium acetate, and ammonium alum, and (2) sodium thiosulphate, sodium bisulphite, potassium alum, sodium acetate, and boric anhydride. Part or all of the sodium acetate may be replaced by sodium citrate or tartrate.
