Abstract

A haemostatic composition comprises at least 20 parts by weight of a non-toxic water soluble salt of naphthionic acid (preferably the sodium, potassium or ammonium salt) and 1 part by weight of adrenochrome mono-oxime or adrenochrome semi-carbazone. The composition may be prepared in aqueous solution 1. If desired the aqueous solution may be lyophilized and the dried material formed into tablets. U.S.A. Specification 2,581,850 is referred to.
