Abstract

740,515. Obstructing key-holes. WILMOTBREEDEN, Ltd. Aug. 3,1954 [Oct. 12, 1953], No. 27952/53. Class 44. In a handle 4 for a vehicle door of the kind having combined therewith a key-operated barrel lock 6 for preventing undesired actuation of the door fastening, a slidable cover 7 is arranged to enclose the outer end of the lock barrel, a spring-loaded retaining-piece 9 being carried by the handle and engaging the cover for holding the cover in position, the range of movement of the cover being determined by shoulders 4a, 4b on the handle with which can co-operate a projection 7a on the inner side of the cover. The retaining-piece 9 is a stem having a head 8 which engages parallel grooves 7b on the cover. The handle is of the type which is fixed at both ends to the door and has a spring-loaded pushbutton 5 for operating the door fastening, the push-button being secured, if desired, by the barrel lock.
